Melt-Down Coming in the Obama Administration

By his own doing, President Obama may become the most over-exposed president in our history.

Just one week after speaking before a joint session of Congress, one would expect President Obama to be riding the crest of the polls.  But one could not have imagined a worse week for the President.

The "revenue neutral" health care reform package with a $900 billion price tag is losing steam quickly.   Last Saturday more than a million protestors rallied against his vision, while on Sunday, the pro-health care reform rally which was supposed to eclipse Saturday's anti-Obama rally barely mustered a crowd of 1500.  So marginal was the rally that the mainstream media--even Fox--never bothered to mention it, much less cover it, not even for its entertainment value in pathos.

Then President Obama pulled the missile defense shield from Poland and the Czech Republic.  Regardless of one's opinion about this move in global strategy, choosing as the day for his announcement the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland was probably not in the best judgment.   Polish officials are seething.

ACORN, the grassroots organization that essentially ushered Obama into the White House was caught in a huge scandal on videotape.  Congress voted to yank some of its funding, which severely jeopardizes ACORN's desired prize of a hefty government contract to help with the census.

And finally, seven former CIA directors sent a letter to President Obama pleading him to call off Attorney General Eric Holder's investigation on CIA interrogation techniques because they claim it threatens the security of our nation.

This weekend President Obama will appear on five--count 'em--five Sunday morning talk shows.  I cannot recall a sitting president ever appearing on a single Sunday talk show, much less five in the same day.   Presidents usually send their cabinet officials for that, because they usually reserve their own exposure for prime time.   By his own doing, President Obama may become the most over-exposed president in our history, and unfortunately for him, his appearance on the talk shows will diminish his cache and clout as President.

This administration is starting to feel the results of its over-zealous legislative agenda,  over-exposure of the President's Office, and overall poor judgment.   Starting at the beginning of next week, we may start to see a major melt-down of this administration, demonstrated by second-guessing itself, by declining public opinion polls, and worst of all, by a waning in confidence of top leaders in his own party and leaders in Congress.
